VISION 2017 ROUNDTABLE
Joe has been the President and CEO of INJOY Stewardship Solutions since August of 2011. This company was founded out of the desire to not simply help churches raise money, but rather, to help churches raise more fully surrendered followers of Jesus. INJOY Stewardship has been blessed to serve over 4,000 churches by helping these churches fund the vision God has given them through customized capital campaigns Joe is also the Founder of I Was Broke. Now I'm Not., an organization that provides financial teaching through live events, print, and web resources. He is also the Co-Founder of Fully Funded, an organization that helps churches implement systems to create a generous culture and fully fund their vision. Joe lives in Anderson, SC, with his bride, Jenn, and their three children.
Rev. Dr. Dwight Riddick
Dr. Dwight Riddick, a native of Chesapeake, Virginia graduated in 1982 from Norfolk State University, Norfolk, Virginia, where he received the Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science. In 1991, he received the Masters of Divinity Degree from Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology, Virginia Union University, Richmond, Virginia. In 2005, he earned the Doctor of Ministry Degree and the School of Divinity’s Leadership Award from Regent University, Virginia Beach, Virginia. Dr. Riddick has also earned a second doctoral degree from the Association of Chicago Theological School (A.C.T.S.) Doctor of Ministry in Preaching Program where he was enrolled through Chicago Theological Seminary, Chicago, Illinois where he graduated in May, 2016.
Following a successful, six-year ministry at First Baptist Church, Dendron, Virginia, Dr. Riddick was called to lead Gethsemane Baptist Mission, Newport News, Virginia in 1985. Within the first two years, he meticulously led Gethsemane Baptist Church in building a 20,000 Sq. Ft. Worship and education center. In 2011, he led the church in constructing its second building, the Transformation Place. Gethsemane Baptist Mission, starting with only 200 disciples, has developed into a congregation well over 2,000.
Dr. Riddick founded F.L.A.M.E., Inc., an organization that equips and nurtures pastors. He has distinctively served in numerous positions including President of the Baptist General Convention of Virginia and member of the Board of Trustees for Virginia Union University. Additionally, he was nominated for the Daily Press Newspaper’s Citizen Award in 2001 and received the Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities Humanitarian Award in 2012. Dr. Riddick currently serves as the 40th President of the Hampton University Ministers’ Conference. Dr. Riddick is certainly a voice for our time that challenges preachers to broaden their world-view and creative implementation of the preached gospel as encouraged like only he can in his first published book “Does Preaching Have A Future, A Call to Join the Conversation.”
Reverend Dr. Dwight Riddick and his lovely, wife, Vera, are the proud parents of a son, Reverend Dwight Riddick, Jr. and his wife, Jenell, and daughter, Tiffany Foreman and her husband, Mitchell. They are the proud grandparents of five lovely grandchildren: Dwight (III), Amber, Jasmine, Rhyan and Tyler.
Dr. Willard Maxwell, Jr.
When it comes to servant leadership, Dr. Willard Maxwell, Jr. has a simple philosophy: “when you stop struggling, you stop relating.”
Pastor and Spiritual Advisor
As the Senior Pastor of New Beech Grove Baptist Church, Dr. Maxwell educates and equips those he is called to serve through Biblical yet practical preaching/teaching. His interactive approach to pastoral leadership includes creating and cultivating a culture of innovation, leadership and a commitment to spiritual and personal growth.
Dr. Maxwell is a results-focused leader who trains and empowers those he leads while remaining committed to “getting in the trenches.” Dr. Maxwell diligently partners with and works alongside those whose mission is to serve, protect and strengthen the local community. In addition to pastoring, Dr. Maxwell serves as a volunteer Police Chaplain for the City of Newport News; is a City Planning Commissioner; serves on the board of the Newport News Police Foundation; is an adjunct professor at the William Harvey Leadership Academy at Hampton University; and is a Silver Lifetime member of the NAACP. Dr. Maxwell supports and collaborates with a host of other local and regional community and civic organizations to serve and enhance the community.
Dr. Maxwell’s Education and Credentials
Dr. Maxwell is a native of Atlanta, Georgia where he served as an educator, administrator and principal in the Atlanta Public School system. Dr. Maxwell holds a Master of Divinity degree from Morehouse School of Religion, a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Argosy University, a Bachelor of Science in Exceptional Education from Georgia Southern University and a Pastor Counseling Certification from Emory University.
Dr. Maxwell On Entertainment and Economic Empowerment
Dr. Maxwell is an entrepreneur with an extensive background in real estate. He holds an active broker’s license and leverages his business skills to conduct workshops for churches and communities on topics such as real estate investing, financial management and community and economic development.
As a respected saxophonist and standup Christian comedian, Dr. Maxwell makes time to enjoy the arts. When time permits, Dr. Maxwell shares these gifts publically.
Brian has been with INJOY Stewardship sincce 2002 so he brings a welath of knowledge in regards to church funding and leardership. He's principle passions lie in helping churches fully-fund their mission and vision. Brian understnads the struggles that many church leaders face regarding vision, leadership, and generosity. He is also the author of The 10 Indispensable Practices of the 2 Minute Leader.
